Nakusp is all about lakes, mountains, fresh air and beautiful hot springs.

FOR ONE WEEKEND A YEAR ... wellness practitioners throughout the Kootenays gather together in one festival with the sole purpose of inspiring you on ways to attain a vibrant, healthy Mind, Body, and Spirit.

• Learn new ways to integrate wellness as a lifestyle change.
• Be inspired by guest speakers on wellness topics.
• Participate in many workshops and “mini” educational talks.
• Explore new ways of healing and take part in activities that promote wellness.
• Enjoy the many booths, services, information and good food.
• Awareness, Knowledge and having fun Experiencing it all!

There are many ways to take part in the Nakusp Celebration of Wellness. There are booths and vendors with their healing services and products, workshops on such as Art Therapy Yoga, ancient history and mysteries of the Divine Feminine and much more, demonstrations on Tai Chi, Drumming Sports programs, practitioner sessions where practitioners offer a 20-minute sample of their skills to help the public become aware of the healing value, “mini talks” on healing modalities, guest speakers during the day and our main guest speakers on Saturday evening in the Bonnington Theatre.

It is a great place to explore new healing modalities, gain knowledge on how to integrate wellness concepts into lifestyle changes and explore and enjoy Nakusp as a wellness destination. There are hot springs in the area (two commercial and several natural), the majestic Selkirk Mountains, beautiful Arrow Lake and varied wildlife, which all lead to an absolutely pleasurable weekend retreat.

This is an opportunity for practitioners to come together in one place, enhance their presence in the public eye, share their knowledge, offer a service to the public, network with other practitioners in their field and discover other healing modalities that might complement their service and offer referrals to their clients, In addition, to be part of a much bigger picture of global healing.

We have a Celebration of Wellness Directory that we created to bring our practitioners to the public. This directory is our main fundraiser. The directory will be given free to each Celebration of Wellness attendee and all participants at the event in Nakusp on May 10/11 2008. In addition, it will be circulated through Chambers of Commerce, health food stores, metaphysical stores, and libraries throughout the Slocan Valley, Nelson, Revelstoke, Kelowna, Vernon, Nakusp, Trout Lake, New Denver, Silverton, and on the Arrow Lakes ferries.
